Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026 (revised)

1. Welcome

RAVE.PH (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is an independent, community-run index of Philippine rave and nightlife culture — events, artists, venues, collectives, rankings and writing. By using this site you agree to these terms.

2. Using the site

You can browse the site freely without an account. Creating an account (by email or by signing in with Google) lets you vote in the rankings, RSVP to events, save events, submit events, follow artists, venues and other members, comment on events and articles, claim an artist/venue profile, and leave reviews.

3. Accounts

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Give us a real, working email address. You may not create multiple accounts to manipulate votes, rankings, or reviews. New accounts are given a randomly generated handle, which you may change once — choose carefully, as this cannot be undone.

4. Voting and rankings

Rankings are community-voted. Each member gets a limited number of votes per category (artists, venues, events), enforced per account. Attempting to manipulate rankings or comment scores through fake accounts, bots, or coordinated vote brigading may result in votes being removed and the account being suspended.

Separately from votes, the site keeps a running points score for each member. You earn points for taking part — for example starting a Community thread, having a profile claim approved, or submitting an event that we publish. Points are cumulative and are shown publicly on your profile once above zero. Reaching a points threshold, or meeting a set condition (such as an organizer having two approved events), earns the verified check next to your name. Staff may also grant or remove the verified check manually. Votes reset at the end of each calendar year; points do not. Trying to farm points through fake activity may cost you the points and the account.

5. Submitting content

If you submit an event, review, or artist/venue information, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it (including any images). Submissions go through a review/approval step before appearing publicly. We may edit, reject, or remove any submission at our discretion — including after publication, if it turns out to be inaccurate, misleading, or in breach of these terms. If you claim ownership of an artist or venue profile, you confirm you’re authorized to represent it; false claims may be reversed and the account suspended.

6. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse in reviews, comments, submissions, or profile content.
  • No spam, scraping, or automated use of the site or its votes/APIs.
  • No impersonating an artist, venue, collective, or another person.
  • No posting content you don’t have rights to.

We may suspend or remove accounts and content that break these rules.

7. Event information & your safety

Event details (dates, venues, lineups) are provided by submitters and may change or be cancelled without notice. Always confirm details with the event organizer before attending. RAVE.PH is not the organizer of any listed event and is not responsible for what happens at it. Party responsibly and look out for each other.

8. Intellectual property

The RAVE.PH name, design, and original writing are ours. Content you submit (photos, event details, reviews) remains yours, but by submitting it you give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the site.

9. No warranty

The site is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep information accurate and the site running, but we make no guarantees about accuracy, availability, or uptime.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the site grows. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Community

The Community section is for members. Ravers may start a limited number of new threads per day. Staff may pin, lock, or remove threads and comments that break the acceptable-use rules, are off-topic, or are used for spam or promotion.

12. Public profiles

Members have a public profile page (at /@yourhandle) showing your display name, member type, points once above zero, verified status, and your public activity. Artists and collectives may claim their profile and edit it. An artist may change their displayed artist name once; the profile web address does not change.

13. Private beta

Access to the site is currently limited. If you request access, we store the email address, artist name, and Instagram handle you give us so we can invite you and set up your profile. Entering the staff access code stores a cookie on your device so you are not asked again.

14. Automated tools

We use automated tools, including Google’s Gemini API, to help run the site — for example screening submitted links and comments for scams or phishing, interpreting natural-language searches, drafting page descriptions and image alt text, and cross-linking the people, venues and events named in articles. These tools assist staff; they do not replace the human review step before content is published. If you opt in on your profile, we also fetch your public Instagram profile picture and store it as your profile image.
