Changelog
What has changed on RAVE.PH, week by week, from the first beta to now. Newest at the bottom.
Week 1 · Aug 31 – Sep 6 · The beta site opens
- raveph.com goes up for our first beta testers: a fast, phone-friendly index of Philippine rave nights, artists, venues and collectives.
- The look: bold black type, our own Helvetica fonts and the RAVE.PH orange-red.
- Submit events: anyone can send in a night; the team checks it before it goes live.
- On the Radar: the live boards for artists, venues and events. “Voting” became Support.
- Accounts: sign in with Google or email. New members get a random rave-style username they can change, and verified accounts get a check mark.
- Roles: sign up as a Raver, Artist or Organizer. Artists can claim their page so only they can edit it.
- Community opens as a discussion board, and comments arrive on events and stories.
- Terms, Privacy, About and Contact pages go live.
Week 2 · Sep 7 – 13 · Points, profiles and collectives
- Points arrive: earn them by taking part. A Help page explains how. (These points later become Tempo.)
- Smarter search: ask a plain-English question and the search tries to answer it.
- Artist pages: artists can list their own gigs and add a press kit that opens right on the page.
- Collectives: cover photos, a roster of artists and a crew list.
- Edit profile: every role gets its own edit page.
- Notifications bell: comments, follows, mentions and more.
- Light mode joins dark mode.
- Community redesign: a clean two-column feed with upvotes and image posts.
Week 3 · Sep 14 – 20 · The app is born
- Easier sign-up: a step-by-step wizard replaces one long form.
- “I was there”: past nights you said you were going to become your gig history.
- Push notifications start working on phones and computers.
- The RAVE.PH Android app begins on Sep 17, first for a small group of beta testers.
- App catch-up: it quickly matches the website: events, artists, collectives, Community, the Radar, notifications, a city page, a map and add-to-calendar.
Week 4 · Sep 21 – 27 · The app grows up
Getting in
- Google Play beta: the app goes into testing on Google Play, and Google sign-in works on Play installs.
- New welcome screen: solid orange with RAVE.PH typing itself out.
- Instant roles: artists and organizers who sign up are set up straight away, with no waiting.
- Spam protection: an “I’m not a robot” check on sign-up keeps out spam accounts.
- A friendlier sign-up prompt: tapping Support, Going or Follow while signed out shows a small sign-up card.
Finding things
- Bottom bar: Home, Browse, Community, Alerts and You.
- Search finds people: artists, organizers and members each in their own section. You can hide yourself from search.
- Ask the search: questions like “who is Kobeast?” get a real answer.
- Following feed: a timeline of what the people and pages you follow post, plus what’s next for them.
CHANNEL (live chat)
- Launch: rooms like #general and #events, with replies, @mentions, polls and unread dots.
- Polls: members can add up to 2 extra options.
Artists and profiles
- BOOK button: booking email, phone and Instagram in one place.
- More on artist pages: record label and testimonials from other members.
- Verification card: artists make it and send it from their own Instagram to get the check mark.
- Organizer profiles: their nights as a poster wall, the artists they follow, the events they’re going to and their collectives.
- Share as story cards for artists and events.
Look and feel
- Feedback: buttons pop and buzz when tapped, and numbers count up.
- Style presets, plus HAVE A TRIP: two full app styles, Smiley Flyer and Tunnel, unlocked with Tempo.
- Easier to read: plain Helvetica on private screens like Settings and Edit profile.
- Home “In the community”: trending threads and a chat shortcut.
Tempo, start to now
- Week 2: points (then called coins) for going to events, supporting artists, posting and inviting friends.
- Week 4, renamed: coins become Tempo everywhere.
- Levels: Newcomer, Regular, Insider, Veteran and Legend. Spending Tempo never lowers your level.
- Fair supports: taking back a support also takes back the Tempo it earned, so nobody can farm it.
- Spending: HAVE A TRIP styles cost 500 Tempo each.
- Your Tempo checklist: three quick things to do each day, with a bonus for finishing all three and a streak for doing it day after day.
- Current rates:
- Going to an event: +2, up to 3 events a day.
- Supporting an artist: +2, with 3 supports a week that come back every Monday.
- Starting a thread: +4, 2 a day.
- Replying: +1, 5 a day.
- Commenting on an event: +2, 3 a day.
- Applause: +1 each time a different member upvotes your post, with no limit.
- Inviting a friend: +25 each.
- Daily limits only cap the Tempo you earn. You can keep going, replying and commenting as much as you like.
- Verified check for ravers and organizers: 25 Tempo earned. Spending Tempo never removes it.
- Next: the Market, where Tempo can be spent, is coming.
Week 5 · Sep 28 – · App first
- raveph.com becomes a fast, read-only companion to the app: events, artists, collectives, organizers, the Radar, Community threads and stories are all readable by anyone. Supporting, going, following, upvoting and replying happen in the app.
- Search the site: artists, organizers, events and threads, with suggestions as you type.
- Links open in the app: shared RAVE.PH links open in the app if you have it.
- Beta testers: thank you. Nothing is wiped; your account, Tempo, follows and pages all carry over.
- Coming soon: the App Store and Google Play for everyone.
